Taghmon Action Group was formed in 2002 and during this time has overseen some major projects and developments in the local area. With the help of the community, employees past and present, volunteers, national and local government bodies, TAG has grown from being a small idea to a highly productive, local operation which has grown to having it’s own premium office space, childcare centre and for 2013 a new state of the art community, training and education centre.
From improving quality of life, working in the spirit of co-operation, appreciating and supporting cultural differences, to being good stewards of the land, water and wildlife, the vision of TAG has always been about developing the community of Taghmon. The current board of John Waters, Pat Codd, Hazel Southam, Betty Fox, May Buttimer, Wendy O’Brien, Maureen Roche, Ann Cahill, Anne Mahon and Brendan Doyle have a passion for Community development and are always readily available to do what is best for the future of Taghmon.
The TAG community centre houses a range of important provisions, including the compilation and distribution of the village newsletter, internet café, office services, meeting rooms and rooms for various activities such as dancing, music and events.
